Bred by Dr. Johann Trojer in Austria, sired by Ahorn and out of the mare Lavant, Lavalla was imported by New Trend Farm before being purchased by us in 2001. She was that one horse who could do it all -- willingly and with a huge heart. Whether ponying a young child, teaching beginner drivers, waltzing down the parade route, or holding her own in the show ring, she did it well. She would be the horse that led her handler to the pasture, but never had a lick of meanness in her. She took to combined driving like a pro, winning our debut training level CDE at GMHA and placing a highly respectable 3rd place win at the Laurels soon thereafter. She jumped the moon over a course of fences, crossed creeks on trail rides, and, like any good Haflinger, loved to eat. Her patience and spirit for whatever sport was set before her was un-matched. She truly was a super pony.
