ANEMONE II YES aka "Gramma" Foaled 3/9/2002 Nizas x Akelei SILVER CLASSIFIED 2004 - 78 points           This amazing mare, affectionately called "Gramma", was bred by Anna Galehr of Schruns, Austria and imported by Twin Birch Farms in October 2002.  Her sire, Nizas, is a result of the 81 point Elite mare (Colrosa's) breeding to Nabucco.  Gramma's dam, Akelei is an Anselma daughter, sired by Walder.  Anemone’s show career kicked off with a bang as she took 1st place in the 2 & 3 year old Haflinger mare class at the 2004 New York State Fair and also brought home the 2004 BEST OF SHOW cooler.  A day later she was high scoring mare at the AHR Classifications and was the recipient of the Angerberg ( Austria ) Haflinger Association trophy.   In 2005 "Gramma" garnered her first National Show title as NATIONAL GRAND CHAMPION MARE, NATIONAL RESERVE BEST OF SHOW and AHR NATIONAL HIGH POINT DRIVING CHAMPION.  She has consistently placed in the top of her classes every time out.  An absolutely beautiful moving mare who is on her way to becoming a super combined driving pony...she eats up the cones and marathon!  We are very excited about her first foal (a filly!) born 2/22/2007 and sired by 2005 & 2006 AHR National Grand Champion Stallion, Avanti of Cedar Lane.  This is a CHAMPION crossed to a CHAMPION and what a cross this has proven to be...INTRODUCING AN EXPENSIVE DECISION YES aka "Annie" Foaled 2/22/2007 Avanti of Cedar Lane x Anemone II YES MMMMmmmm....GOOD!       CONGRATULATIONS "ANNIE"...WINNER OF THE $100 YEARLING "POT OF GOLD" CLASS AT THE 2008 NEW YORK GOLD CLASSIC!       AYEL YES Foaled 05/51/2006 Anthony x Monique   2008 NEW YORK STATE BREEDERS SHOW RESERVE CHAMPION MARE    MARGARITE Foaled 03/11/1999 Stegreif x Mariza SILVER CLASSIFIED 2004 - 77 points     Also imported from Austria, Margarite came to Twin Birch Farm in 1999 as a 7-month old weanling.  Since that time she has been trained to drive and ride and has done very well in halter, pleasure driving and under saddle shows, both locally and nationally. Margarite was the 1st place winner of the 2003 AHR National Show Adult Versatility Class where she exhibited best overall driving, English and Western riding performances.  She also placed 1st in the Adult Cone Scurry out of 35 entrants, and 2nd in Preliminary Driven Dressage, at this same show.  She was the recipient of the 2001 New York State Breeders Show "Best of Show" award,  2002 AHR National Show Two-Year-Old Futurity Cart Winner and 2002 Lorenzo Driving Competition Reserve Champion Novice Pony.  "Marg" has gone on to win many, many blues and championships since that time. A sweet dispositioned mare with just the right amount of attitude, "Marg" has a beautiful hunter stride and an "all fours off the ground" trot.  In between bringing home the ribbons, she has given us one lovely filly MARGO YES born in 2004. and has become the "been there, done that" show companion for youth exhibitor, Emma, below.      AVERIL YES Foaled 5/2/2007 Anthony x Steinfee Oh, sweet Averil!  Imported from Germany in 2007 this impressive filly quickly settled into life at Twin Birch.  A favorite of everyone who knows her, we're excited to see what great things the future holds for her.  Shown just once in the U.S. she received the Reserve Champion Junior Horse Award at the 2008 New York Gold Classic.   LAVINIA-LENA YES Foaled 2/15/2002 Nabucco x Lena SILVER CLASSIFIED 2004 - 75 points     JUMPING PHOTO by L. BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY                  Bred by Hans Strobl of Imst, Austria, Lavinia-Lena is an exceptional filly.  She was sired by Nabucco and is out of the Afghan II daughter, Lena, who achieved Elite mare status with an outstanding 83 points under World Haflinger Federation standards.  Lena is trained to drive and ride.  She is schooling Training Level Dressage under saddle as well as competing in low hunter competitions.  Lena was the 2'3" Champion at her first open jumping show at Barneveld Park in 2007.  Multi-tasking like any good woman, she is currently raising her first foal, a filly by Styleschutz, born on March 14, 2008, while getting in shape for the upcoming show season. LIL MISS SUNSHINE YES aka "Lily" Foaled 3/14/2008 Styleschutz x Lavinia-Lena YES   LAVALLA NTF aka "Super Pony" Foaled 02/18/1992 Ahorn x Lavant            Imported from Austria by John & Judy Miller of New Trend Farm, Lavalla NTF was purchased in 2001 for use as one of Twin Birch Farm's main Performance ponies...and she has not let us down! Whether pleasure driving, trail riding, jumping, giving pony rides to visiting children or escorting a new bride and groom to their reception, Lavalla NTF is a steadfast companion.  She has extensive training and show experience in pleasure harness, from singles to four-in-hand, and she excels at cones and marathon driving events. Among many other awards, Lavalla NTF won the 2001 Six-Year-Old and Older Mare Halter Class at the AHR National Haflinger Show, was Reserve Champion Pony at the 2006 Lorenzo Driving Competition and was 2006 Cayuga County 4-H Gymkhana Champion.  Truly, a one in a million mare who has and can  do it all!   LORETA NTF Foaled 2/20/1995 Amadeus x Lonella                                                     Loreta was bred by Johann Taxauer of Erlerberg , Austria , and imported to the states by New Trend Farm.  On August 4, 2004, the same day we lost our favorite and Loreta’s 3-year-old daughter LORA NTF, we purchased Loreta.  At 12 years of age she is well trained only to produce beautiful foals...and she likes it that way!  She is currently in foal to German/Austrian sensation NOTTING HILL for her 2009 delivery!  Sired by the gorgeous Afghan II offspring Amadeus, Loreta is full sister to the famous Austrian stallion AVALON.  She passes on the intelligence, amazing movement and “spark” to her foals that make the judges really take notice.   Click HERE to see Loreta's 2007 foal LOVE YOU LONG TIME YES ("Lola") sired by the Nasdaq NTF son, Nimbus NTF.  Loreta's March 2008 gelding (WINE & DINE ME YES aka "Willy")sired by WHERE'S WALDO van de BLOEMENDAAL can be seen in the photos below.    BACK  |  TOP TWIN BIRCH FARMS info@twinbirch.net         Tel (315) 784-5840
